Zomerweek: Expanding the object

This experimental art workshop invites participants on a creative journey aimed at expanding the expressive potential of objects. Through a process of deconstruction, improvisation, and transformation, you’ll explore how an artwork can evolve beyond traditional boundaries—conceptually, physically, and across media.

Over the week, participants will begin with two-dimensional works and progressively fragment, reimagine, and reconstruct them into multi-dimensional pieces. Sound, movement, light, poetry, and language may all become part of the process, as you are encouraged to integrate diverse disciplines and materials into your practice.

Rather than following a fixed format or specific medium, this workshop promotes a fluid, open-ended approach to making art. Whether you work in sculpture, painting, installation, writing, or beyond, you’re welcome to explore, combine, and push your chosen media in new directions. This course is for participants who are curious and ready to let go of rigid structures and be open to improvisation – embracing play, intuition, and surprise as tools for creation.

Language: The course will be taught in English, but the use of conversational Dutch is guaranteed.
